I am upgrading Adobe LC 8.2 to ES2 on AIX, WAS7.x and Oracle 11gR2. I am stuck at an exception, this I did search in forum and found no solid answer. Will try to redeploy, meanwhile if someone know the answer will be helpful.

Hi,

I'm developing a small project in java, it's a desktop application.

This application has to populate a PDF document. The PDF document has
been developed using LiveCycle with a dynamic XFA form.

Regarding to the LiveCycle API documentation. This has to be necessarily connected to the LiveCycle server to populate the PDF document.

I like to populate the PDF document without connect my application to LiveCycle server.

I tested the XPAAJ library and it's good for me. But Adobe doesn't support more this library.

Please, could you tell me where/how I could buy that library? Could someone sell an old licence of the XPAAJ library?

Currently we are using ES4 and have a local server for each machines.

When the new patch is made by one of our developers, it’s locally tested first because each developer has own local server(ES4). Then it’ll be uploaded into our main server where we share the all of the applications. But also we need to mirror the all applications between the main server and the local servers.

So is there anyone know that where the latest LCA imported dates are shown in the administration console screen?

Hi All,

I have configured Adobe ES4 in a cluster. I have given the temp folder location on a NAS for primary node while configuring the LC. And I haev given a different location for Temp folder for the secondary node while configuring LC. But when we are testing the secondary node is reading the primary node Temp location and locking the files. The error is below

Where is is reading this location. I know there are 2 places to change one is in the admin console of Adobe and the other one is teh WebSphere JVM arguments. I did change the JVM arguments but to change in the admin console of the LC I am not able to login. It says the username and password doesnot match. Any Ideas?

My IT people have installed ES4 on my pc.

When I click on the Preview HTML Tab, I get shown the "Server Options" window.

However, I have no idea what I should put in the various fields.

I want to run everything from my PC.

Can anyone help me please.

As I am the only person in my company with this product, it is not supported by IT.

Hello,

while analyzing a customer installation of LiveCycle ES (8.2, JBoss, Solaris, Oracle DB) we have found out that this installation's GDS folder is continually increasing in size. This seems strange since there is only one long-lived service and some short-lived ones. Currently, there is NO active instance of any service and still no file is getting deleted.

When looking into one of the subfolders (docm*) there are a lot of files accompanied by additional files with a ".sessionWorkspace_TempDocs_DeleteMe" extension, like 58e344bb58f03d13169bc6aa4744684c.sessionWorkspace_TempDocs_DeleteMe. In that instance, by the way, the 58e344bb58f03d13169bc6aa4744684c actually seems to be a PDF file that has been rendered to display in LC Workspace.

The long-lived service connected to that is just using a Workspace-Endpoint, and once a form has been submitted there are NO additional human tasks, just some small operations. After that, the service completes. In adminui, there is no active or stalled service.

What might be the reason that those files are not getting deleted? Is it safe to remove them via script?

Any helpful advices would be most appreciated.

LC Configuration Manager problem, port 8080 still in use?

I'm installing a trial version of the Adobe LiveCycle ES server using JBoss on my system for some development. I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit. I did a turnkey installation. That goes fine. When I run the configuration manager, it gets to the deployment step and the "Verifying ports required by service JBoss for Adobe LiveCycle ES are available" step, and I get this error:

"The following ports required by JBoss for Adobe LiveCycle ES are still in use 8080.

Another instance may be running or another application may be using some of the required ports."

Nothing has port 8080 bound. I've checked with a netstat -a -o command. I can run tomcat and it binds port 8080 just fine. I've disabled UAC (I'm logged in as an administrator), disabled windows firewall, and even uninstalled and reinstalled livecycle. One thing that happens if I restart my computer and try again is that it fails for a different error about being unable to stop the JBoss service. If I stop the service manually and retry, it just reverts to the port error above.

This error is really confusing and I can't seem to figure out how to fix it. I need to get this up and running so I can develop and test my application. Anyone have any insights or suggestions?

I have downloaded the LiveCycle ES3 trial however when I go to install, I am asked for a serial number and cannot proceed until I have entered one.

I can find a serial number for the ES2 trial but it doesn't work with ES3 and I cannot find one anywhere!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a functioning ES2 development environment that I want to upgrade to ES4. I am also moving to a new server (Windows 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 R2).

Currently, I'm running:

JBoss [EAP] 4.2.0.GA_CP01

MS SQL 2005

Java 1.6.0-14

I've read some docs, but am still confused. I'm assuming out-of-place upgrade, but should I try to Upgrade from ES2 or just do a fresh install then copy GDS and database over? Also, what configuration files can I copy over (if any)?

Any recommendations or links would be appreciated.

Hi All

I am trying to configure Adobe Livecycle ES4 and I gave the temp directory using GUI as /data/xyz/jvm/tmp and also the same location for JVM arguments -Djava.io.tmpdir=/data/xyz/jvm/tmp.

When I start the servers after the configuratiion its giving me the below error: Its a horrizontal cluster.

Services failed to start

I'm trying to get an installation running, and while it seems most things are up and running, a few services are failing to start.

com.adobe.livecycle.DataTypesUtility and com.adobe.livecycle.PDFUtility fail to start. Their errors are similar:

How something can be started, before it is started, I'm not sure.

Failed to deploy LCA

Hello,

I'd like to appolgize in advance if my question is not clear enough.

I'm deploying the LiveCycle ES on WebSphere on a remote Linux server, connecting to Oracle 11g database and I can successfully access the LiveCycle console.

I'm facing a problem deploying the LiveCycle components (jar files), all files are successfully deployed except for (adobe-launchpad-assets.lca).

I get an error "failed to deploy LCA /opt/adobe/adobe_livecycle_es2/deploy/adobe-launchpad-assets.lca"

I also get another error for (adobe-auditworkflow-dsc.jar), saying that it is deployed but not running.

I tried solving the problem by restarting the application server and re-deploy the jar files, but no luck.

If there's anything else I should be providing, please just tell me what it is and how i can find it.
