install LiveCycle PDF Generator ES as a standalone java library

Hi

I am looking for an Adobe java API that manages pdf documents (more precisely: convert html to pdf) ?

Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator ES is presented as a standalone product,
however, I could not download a trial version (I had to download the whole LiveCycle ES trial version),
and once installed, I could not use it as a standalone java library: the GeneratePdfServiceClient class seems to need a running liveCycle server.

Is there a special installation procedure ?
