Problem with character sets...

$

Hi,

I have installed the turnkey LCES with JBoss and MySQL in Windows 2003 server with en-us locale, and I want to build a simple process which will be invoked from workspace, where:

1.A number of users are inserted from adminui
2.There are user specific data like First name, Last name, Home address etc.
3.User specific data are in Greek, and/or Latin character sets
4.The user has a LiveCycle Workspace user role
5.The user will start a process by completing a form, where some fields (user specific data) will come pre populated

I have build a simple xdp form and a custom render service in which I make a database call  from "adobe"s table edcprincipaluserentity to retrieve the users data.

Im using the  "Query for multiple Rows as XML" service,but for
users inserted with Latin chars in user specific data fields, everything works fine, while for users inserted with Greek characters:

1.The query results are right (Greek chars are displaying properly) as I can see when I test the query in the SQL Statement Info Editor and XML Document Info Editor so the fields are correctly stored and retrieved since the database  has utf-8 character set but,
2.The output xml document contains (invalid characters displayed as) question marks instead of Greek chars (as listed below) which signifies that the Greek chars are not decoded properly.

I expect a default character set used throughout the whole application, the question is what this default is and how another may be selected. Given that I am using  proper fonts in the text fields of my xdp and a UTF-8 encoding wherever I can define it (browser settings,character set when rendering the form), the rest of the settings are wrong. This effects the process that sets a value to a (string, document, xml e.t.c)variable, thus rendering invalid-erroneous values. Where can I change it?

Any suggestion would be appreciated..

Thanks,

Katerina

PDFG from LiveCycle ES Update 1

Hello,

I have just attempted to create a testing environment for a customer. It's a turnkey installation of PDFG on JBoss / Win 2k3 server. Basically the system works, but there is one major issue:

If I try to configure a source for PDF conversion by going to the Home - Services - PDFG page and clicking on "Sources", I get forwarded to the Service management page. This has happened with two installations on two different machines. The link looks like this ("http://localhost:8080/adminui/postsso.faces?sso=/AACComponent/sso&frame=/AACComponent/s witchServiceConfigurationsPage.do?page=0&userSessionKey=98764238C7BF78F916FB06F44F118F8F~A dobeIDP2UI_PGUIComponent").

I'm not sure if this is supposed to be correct, but I don't think so.

So how can I configure a source?

Thanks alot,

Steffen.

JBoss Starts but Stops Immediately

I am trying to do a turnkey installation of LiveCycle 8.2.1 with JBoss yet when I run the Configuration Manager, and at the point at which JBoss gets started, the Configuration Manageer stops stating that it failed to start JBoss.

When I go into Windows Services and manually try to start JBoss, it starts but immediately stops.

Any ideas?

workbench crash leads to server crash?

$

I have two issues, first a workbench crash which I suspect led to a server crash. Please read this in its entirety as I am including the workbench log and then the server log entry. Any advise is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have a process with only one service on it - the LDAP service. I can test the service just fine (by using the "Test" button inside the properties for the LDAP service), but I'm also trying to activate the service. When I do that, everything locks up and I have to terminate workbench and relaunch.

It's repeatable as it does this every time I try to activate this process. The .log file under the workbench directory says there is no active service configuration for
service: [amalLDAPProcess]. I am new to this, can you advise as to what that means?

Here's the actual workbench log entry:
________________________________________________________________________________

!ENTRY com.adobe.workflow.editor 4 4 2009-01-08 14:51:00.332 !MESSAGE got an unknown exception There is no active service configuration for service: amalLDAP Process loading headConfig for category A_Amal !STACK 0 ALC-DSC-023-000:
com.adobe.idp.dsc.registry.service.NoActiveServiceConfigurationException:
There is no active service configuration for service: amalLDAP Process

I already did configure the LDAP service and when I use the LDAP service in my process, the TEST button returns the LDAP attribute I am looking for. So I believe I have LDAP configured properly. My process basically takes a form, goes to LDAP to get the manager, and adds the manager name on the form.

I gave up for the evening only to discover that today the livecycle server (service) was down and our server engineer was unable to start the service. After a 70 minute startup, it finally came up (and loading workbench and connecting to the server was really slow). Here is the server log entry. The error messages in the Websphere logs indicate a time-out issue, possibly attempting to connect to the datastore.

I started the services around 11:30am, and the application was not up until 12:40pm. Can you please forward the log entries below to Adobe, to see if they can identify the nature of the problem?

I set up Adobe LCES 8.2 on a WebSphere 6.1.23 install and deployed the ears.  I manually created the connection pools, data sources, etc, and all the other config settings, however, I now get the errors below and am unable to deploy the jar files or initialize the database.  The pools test out fine with zero errors, but I keep getting this DS.SC_SERVICE not found error and do not know how to fix it.

Hi,

LiveCycle ES 8.2 Update1

Weblogic Server

How can the Soap Endpoint timeout be increase?

The Client Application is accessing the process via SOAP endpoint (web service) to render PDF using the renderPDFForm service, however when the input XML data reach a certain size it will encounter SOAP timeout error.

Is there anything related to Weblogic timeout setting?

Thanks.

I successfully migrated the GDS and Database from ES to ES2. However, I am unable to retain the user groups created in DefaultDom.

The migration was a fresh install of ES2 with the ES database and GDS. Is there a way to migrate the uer settings?

LC + ActiveDirectory + LDAP over SSL = doesn't work

Hi,

I installed Active Directory Certificate Services. Now I want setup LDAP over SSL. Unfortunatelly it doesn't work. I pressed "Test" and always get "Invalid username or invalid password" (

German: "Ungültiger Benutzername oder ungültiges Kennwort"). I'm pretty sure username and password are fine (it worked before I installed Active Directory Certificate Services and used LDAP without SSL).

On server.log, I got this:

Configuring the application server to use HTTP proxy server

$

Hi,

I am trying to configure LiveCycle ES2 to access services over the internet and since my Livecycle server connects to internet through a Proxy server, I have referred to section 5.8.2 of LiveCycle install_weblogic.pdf that states the following:

If the computer that LiveCycle ES2 is running on uses proxy settings to access external web sites, the

application server should be started with the following values set as Java virtual machine (JVM)

arguments:

-Dhttp.proxyHost= [server host]

-Dhttp.proxyPort=

[server port]

However, I am getting the below exception while running the LC application as my Proxy server requires User credentials to connect to the internet:

weblogic.net.http.HttpUnauthorizedException: Proxy or Server Authentication Required.

I tried providing the below JVM startup argument too, but no luck:

-Dhttp.proxyUser= [proxy user]

-DhttpPassword= [Proxy password]

Can you please suggest how to configure User credentials for the Proxy server in Livecycle.

Thanks in advance.

Can't uninstall Livecycle - Windows installer package error when uninstalling error 1722

I'm having issues uninstalling Livecycle.

I am getting Error 1722. There is a problme with the windows installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected.

Has anyone else had this issue?

If so, how do I then uninstall this software?

java.lang.ClassCastException: org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl cannot be cast to javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory

Hi,

We are upgrading from LiveCycle 7 (I assume it's pre-ES) to ES4 (On Jboss AS 5) and only has a minimal time.

And we're having issues with

2014-10-02 08:10:50,110 ERROR [org.apache.axis.utils.XMLUtils] (http-0.0.0.0-80-1) Exception:

java.lang.ClassCastException: org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl cannot be cast to javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory

  at org.apache.axis.client.Service.<init>(Service.java:113)

  at org.apache.axis.client.Call.<init>(Call.java:344)

A solution that we found in the installation manual is caused by different version of xercesImpl with JBoss AS 5 and suppose to use classloader.

We use classloader as

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<classloading xmlns="urn:jboss:classloading:1.0"

name="FOFMS_MNT.war"

domain="FOFMS_MNT"

export-all="NON_EMPTY"

import-all="true">

</classloading>

and now we're getting

(http-0.0.0.0-80-1) FormRenderObject: urlSpec = contentrooturi=file:///D:/FOFMS_Form_Templates/MNT_FormTemplates&applicationwebroot=http://desphapp044.development.local:80/FOFMS_MNT&baseurl=file:///D:/FOFMS_Form_Templates/ MNT_FormTemplates&targeturl=http://desphapp044.development.local:80/FOFMS_MNT/SubmitForm?F ormName=Review Form&FormTemplate=Base_Review_Template.xdp&FormFormat=PDFForm&FormVersion=1.6

.

What's the correct way to resolve this issue? As without classloader we are getting the xercesImpl and xml-apis conflict which we need both of them. Thus xercesImpl is removed from the lib.

thanks

Most efficient way to loop through similarly named fields?

$

Hi,

I have a 5 page document with each page containing appx. 50 similarly named fields.    E.g. Viol1Num, Viol2Num, Vio3Num ...  Viol50Num.

I am looking for an efficient way of programming a loop to look at each field in Javascript so I can do some manipulations in those fields on what the user entered.

In FormCalc I've previously used the 'foreach' function similar to:

foreach (Field1, Field2, Field3.....Field50) do

     'BLAH'

endfor

however, that gets really lengthy, especially when dealing with subsequent pages where I have to start adding 'topmostSubform.Page2.' in front of each field name so that I can access from the first page all of the fields on subsequent pages.  Also, I need to do this in Javascript, not FormCalc.

For example, in JS I am using this loop to mark all fields as read only:

for (var nPageCount = 0; nPageCount < xfa.host.numPages; nPageCount++) {

 var oFields = xfa.layout.pageContent(nPageCount, "field");

 var nNodesLength = oFields.length;

 for (var nNodeCount = 0; nNodeCount < nNodesLength; nNodeCount++) {

 oFields.item(nNodeCount).access = "readOnly";

 }

 }

How could I do something similar to that so I could look through each field and perform actions on it without having to list out every single field name?

I tried altering that to look at fields instead of field properties, but I couldn't get it to run.

Thanks.

Class not found in weblogic deployment

Hi,

I'm trying to deploy the adobe livecycle ears to a hardened weblogic, but for some reasons some jars/classes are not found.

If I try to deploy the same ears to an weblogic base domain, I do not see this error.

Any ideas what could cause this issue? Could you maybe provide me with further information which ear is involved in that issue, so that I can take a closer look at the classpath.
