JBoss Configuration or Start-up Problem: Non-Turnkey, Win 2003 EE, MSSQL 2005 Ent.

Hello,

I'm trying to get Jboss app. server to start cleanly. I've performed the manual installation per the instructions in the 'Preparing to Install LiveCycle ES' pdf. Hardware, OS, and MS SQL Server configurations have been vetted for use with the product.

Below I've posted the command prompt output from starting Jboss with the batch file. It has been edited for posting here. I deleted the output for most of the objects that were configured successfully. Can someone please let me know what I've missed or mis-configured?

Thanks for your help!!

Font Manager

Hi,

  We've installed Adobe Livecyle using configuration manager and chose Forms and Outout as the required components. The installation is successful but when we use FormsIVS or OutputIVS, we are getting an error message 'Not Serializable'.

  The websphere logs point to the error in FontManager. It looks like the Adobe install is unable to refer to the font directories provided during the configuration. Please let me know where the font configuration is stored so that I can verify the settings. Thanks in advance.

The error message is as follows:

Sometimes JBoss fails to connect to server.

JBoss does not connect all the times during server re-boot.  The errors on the log are listed below.  It looks like the ports are in use, but re-starting the JBoss service or the server will resolve the connection issue.  This problem does not occur all the times.  Sometimes JBoss starts without any problem.  This is a Windows Server 2003 and SQL 2005 environment.

SSL certificate expiration date

Hello,

We're using Adobe LiveCycle JBoss Installation, and the SSL certificate we're using to enable Rights Management has expired.

We've created a new one which is now working fine, but we would like to know if there's a way to control or extend the expiration date on the certificate, as 3 months is a very short period.

Hi all,
I have a problem making the PDF Generator Printer driver work. I am able to print a document, and it is successfully converted to pdf, but the send email service fails. The error message is:

Adobe Livecycle ES3 (v10.0.2) xml file processing error (file already used enquiry)

Good day

This relates to an error we are experiencing on Adobe Livecycle where xml files being processed (from stage folder) is not removed from this folder due to an error noticed.

We checked the standard log files and can confirm that the xml files do actually process but it generates the following error message in the "failure" folder under %adobe%\Invoice_Printing\working\failure

The error message is:

Reason for failure is--------Could not parsenullCould no parseFailed to convert the source file %SOURCE\stage\file.xml to document for watched folder {1}java.io.FileNotFoundException: %SOURCE\stage\file.xml (The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process)

We have tried to disabled the Antivirus on the server to ensure there is no non-adobe related file locking taking place.

Even though the xml files in question do actually process, there are still remnance of these files remaining in the stage folder which I believe is the correct process adobe LC will follow should issues be encountered.

We want to basically get rid of the error being generated and ask for any guidance/assistance.

Thank you very much

Free Upgrade to Adobe Designer

Hello All,

I keep reading unanswered posts about the above-stated topic. In the response to the various queries, nearly every post has a version of "Go here to see if you qualify for a free upgrade: Upgrade Adobe Designer from Acrobat "

I have had Adobe Acrobat Pro from v.6 to the current DC version. A couple of times the upgrade came via a Collection (i.e., CS4 Design, CS5 Master) and I have had a Creative Cloud subscription since CC was first available.

Why am I not eligible for the free upgrade?

Thank you,

i have changed the password = letters, numbers, and a ? character. and did successfully login with it.

the next day i tried but again i get: User name and password do not match.

i did allready try to reset it via mysql: UPDATE adobe.edcprincipallocalaccountentity, adobe.edcprincipaluserentity SET  password = 'TXScDjEEQCzWccUMUdf8wijx/hE=', salt =  'JNIBnmos3d0WE9W8oquFIQ==' WHERE  adobe.edcprincipallocalaccountentity.refuserprincipalid =  adobe.edcprincipaluserentity.id and adobe.edcprincipaluserentity.uidstring =  'administrator';

but still no progress.

is there a known issue with passwords?

ps: i am the only admin/user and nobody could change the password as i did not give it to anybody.

LiveCycle ES2 installation failed : ALC-TTN-011-003

I spent almost whole last week for trying to install Adobe LiveCycle (JBoss) ES2 WIN, but I still have the same error. As I searched everything about it, read almost every pdf document and posts. I setup my machine twice with Windows7 32-bit and 64-bit separately, even I re-downloaded the installer to ensure that it is downloaded properly. All combination of Operating System and LiveCycle ES (Turnkey, Partial Turnkey, manual...). No luck The error message is the same as given below.

Any help will be appreciated

I am installing a clean install of LiveCycle ES using:

  • Windows 2008
  • WebSphere v7
  • DB2 9.5

Everything appears to run properly until I get to the Database initialization part when I get an error and can no longer move forward.  I have looked at the couple other issues on this forum and have not been able to find an answer.  Any thoughts?

ES2 Upgrade Issue

I'm ugrading a second(I've already upgrade one server successfully) instance of livecycle 8.2 to livecycle ES2 SP2 and I'm receiving errors post upgrade.  The upgrade seems to go smoothly until I try to login to workspace after and I'm unable to render PDFs.

There is a problem with the reader extension/reader extension credentials.  The stack trace is:

So I am unable to render forms because of the problem with the reader extensions service.  When I try to login to the reader extensions gui(ie /ReaderExtensions), I get an error saying the reader extensions service might not be running.  I also cannot see or update the reader extensions credential in adminui.

Does anyone have an idea?

Reset adobe LC Administrator Passpowrd to default "password"

$

If you wish to change the administrator’s password for the LiveCycle server you must do it manually in the database.

Reason

The administrator’s password is the only password stored in the database table EDCPrincipalLocalAccountEntity.

Solution

To select the correct record run this query:

SELECT uidstring, password, salt
FROM adobe.edcprincipallocalaccountentity A, adobe.edcprincipaluserentity B
WHERE A.refuserprincipalid = b.id AND b.uidstring = ‘administrator’;

The values in the salt and password field together constitute the password for the administrator account. On a sample installation where the password for the administrator account was “password” the password field was set to:

TXScDjEEQCzWccUMUdf8wijx/hE=

and the salt field was set to:

JNIBnmos3d0WE9W8oquFIQ==

To reset your password to “password” run this update command to update the two fields in the EDCPrincipalLocalAccountEntity table with the above values and you should be able to login.

UPDATE adobe.edcprincipallocalaccountentity, adobe.edcprincipaluserentity
SET password = ‘TXScDjEEQCzWccUMUdf8wijx/hE=’, salt = ‘JNIBnmos3d0WE9W8oquFIQ==’
WHERE adobe.edcprincipallocalaccountentity.refuserprincipalid = adobe.edcprincipaluserentity.id
AND adobe.edcprincipaluserentity.uidstring = ‘administrator’;

You may have to restart the application server for these changes to take affect.

Additional Information

This solution has been verified on a MySQL database with LiveCycle ES 8.0.  The database schema for later versions of LiveCycle ES (8.2.1, 9, 10 etc…), and for other Database types (Oracle, SQL Server) may differ, and may require modifications to the above SQL statements.

In some databases the “edcprincipallocalaccountentity” table does not exist, but is represented by the “edcprincipallocalaccount” table. The information in this technote is provided as-is and should be tested before applying it to a production database.  Performing a full backup of the database before applying any changes is recommended

I have installed Livecycle ES4 on Linux following the install guide provided. I was at the step of verifying Post-deployment tasks. All the following web browser URL worked except URL below.

5.1.3.3  Accessing CQ Welcome Page  - [http://[hostname]:[port]:/lc/welcome | http://[hostname]:[port]:/lc/welcome]

5.1.3.5  Change CQ Administrator default password - http://....../lc/libs/granite/security/content/admin.html

5.2.3 Access HTML Workspace - http://...../lc/ws

5.2.4 Access Forms Manager - http://..../lc/fm

I got the following message on error.log

org.apache.sling.engine.impl.SlingHttpContext handlesSecurity: AuthenticationSupport service missing. Cannot authenticate request.

org.apache.sling.engine.impl.SlingHttpdContext handleSecurity: Possible reason is missing Repository service. Check AuthenticationSupport dependencies.

And web browser URL not working above all gave out the error text message:-

AuthenticationSupport service missing. Cannot authenticate request.

How to configure MS Office to be used for Excel File conversion

$

We have recently upgraded from LiveCycle Es2 to by basically installing a new version of LiceCycle on a new server. Within the old Es2 server we could successfully convert Excel files to PDF. The new server keeps throwing the error below. We have installed Ms Office and do not want to use OpenOffice. We have also within the adminui configured under Services >PDF Generator > File Type Settings > Edit File Type Setting: Standard, and unticked the checkbox for all Office Type files named "", saved the Standard setting as a new setting name and set the new setting options as the default. So what else needs to be set to get LiveCycle to use Ms Office not OpenOffice when opening and converting?

Adobe livecycle designer ES4: set application language to Spanish

$

Good morning,

We have Adobe Livecycle Designer ES4, installed on a corporate Windows 8.1. We need to set the application language to Spanish.

We find the menu on Tools; Options; International, but the only language available is English.

The question is: Where do we download the Spanish application language from?

Thanks in advance for your collaboration,

Eugenio
